Sheeba Magic Kingdom “Disney” Back-to-Back Majors

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Our Sheeba Magic Kingdom “Disney” does it again today in Wichita, Kansas capturing Winners Dog and Best of Winners. Today Disney was shown by Andi Scott’s daughter Taylor and surprised everyone when she came out on top with our boy again for the second day in a row winning back-to-back 3 point majors. Taylor is an experienced Junior Handler so we were honored to have her take the lead today.

Disney is now sitting at 8 points with both majors already completed and he has only attended 4 shows total so far winning 3 out of 4.

Once again we want to thank Andi Scott of Redbud Cavaliers (www.redbudcavaliers.com) located in Edmond, Oklahoma for taking such wonderful care of our boy, training him in such a short period of time, and handling him with the upmost professionalism.

Disney was our “Tramp” today!

What a good boy Disney was today. I guess a field rat had gotten into our backyard and Disney decided to be like “Tramp” on Disney’s Lady and the Tramp movie and caught the field rat. The only difference is he decided to run around the yard with all the other Cavaliers chasing him and then proudly ran into the house through the doggy door with the field rat. Now the rat was in my house! I caught Disney and carried him into the living room away from the other dogs while he continued to hold onto the rat in his mouth. Once into the living room he lost his grip and the rat fell to the floor. I quickly put Disney back in the Cavalier room with the other Cavaliers and got a papertowel to pick up what I assumed was a dead rat, but no it was still alive and kicking. I carried it out to the trash, but of course I cannot kill a rat even though I don’t like them particularly. He will most likely regain his composure and jump out of the trash can and be on his merry way again within an hour or so.

Well in case you are wondering…Cavaliers are spaniels and they still like to hunt and chase game. Most of the time they are chasing bugs or butterflies and we do have a few birds that like to tease them a bit, but I have only seen field rats out front when our cats brought them home as trophies. I guess since my Cavaliers run free and have a nice big backyard in the country I can expect episodes like this to occur every now and then. I also know that Disney thought it was a great time and he is very proud of himself now.
